Test Syphilis at home with the Test Point Syphilis Self Test

With the Test-point Syphilis Self-test you can easily find out if you are infected with the bacteria that causes syphilis (Treponema Pallidium or Tp).
If Tp is present in the body, the body produces antibodies to fight the bacteria. These antibodies can be detected in the blood of the person with the syphilis infection.
Note: It takes a few days to weeks for syphilis to produce sufficient antibodies. Before that time, the home test can give a negative result, while contamination has taken place.

Syphilis is an STD that is caused by a bacterium. This bacterium is initially always located where unprotected sexual contact took place. This is therefore in the vagina, penis, anus or mouth. After a few weeks or months, the bacteria spreads through the rest of the body through the blood.
Someone who is infected with syphilis can experience the following complaints:

  • One or more sores at the site of infection (mouth, penis, vagina, anus). These sores or ulcers disappear naturally after a few weeks. The syphilis is certainly not yet cured. This requires treatment from the doctor.
  • Smudges on the skin. Especially on the soles of the feet and palms (these also disappear without treatment).
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Fatigue
  • Temperature increase
  • Hair loss
  • Eye complaints
  • Warts at the genitals or the anus

If a syphilis infection is not treated, the following parts of the body will be damaged:

  • The heart and blood vessels
  • The brain
  • The spinal cord
  • The bones
